My Home
By Casey Bledsoe
Sitting at home out on the farm
Thinking of things to do
Nothing comes to mind
I feel like I am doing this every single
day
My ride is here
I'm going to Minneapolis to see my dad
I'm here
It's been two weeks now
Cars are honking their horns
Cop sirens are going off
It's different
It's not like home
I didn't know I loved my home so much
My ride is here again
Seven hours later
I'm back home
Sitting here again listening to the frogs
croaking
The ducks quacking at each other out in
the back pond
Yes, this is the life
Calm, just the way I like it
I didn't know I loved my home this much
