You’ll See me at the Courts

By Juli Miller

It is like a home away from home.

A place where all feelings, frustrations come out.

I begin by dropping the ball, hearing it hit

Against the sandpapery court.

The ball, from my racquet to the board,

Produces a steady beat.

It relaxes me.

No trees to block the sweet summer breeze

From whipping my hair back and forth.

Weeds starting to grow in small patches

Scattered around all 6 courts

Making it look older than it is.

I love it though.
